New research published in the Journal of Internal Medicine shows that the muscles of people with chronic fatigue syndrome begin showing abnormalities immediately after exercise, and that they take a long time to return to the correct pH balance after exercise. (The pH balance is a measure of acidity.) The build-up of acid in muscles is a cause of muscle pain.
The study of XMRV is still in its infancy. Preliminary studies suggest the virus first initially appeared in the mouse --- at least at some point. Currently, there is debate on the percentage of human blood samples the virus has been found in....The mystery surrounding a retrovirus recently implicated in prostate cancer and possibly chronic fatigue syndrome is beginning to yield clues.Watch video.
